
Women's Tennis Make it Seven Straight Wins In Orlando

ORLANDO, Fla. - Southern Miss women's tennis earned its seventh straight win on Wednesday after a 6-1 win against Butler.
The Golden Eagles took the doubles point on wins on courts 2 and 3. Elena Roca and Lara Isis De Oliveira are now 6-0 on court 2 with a 6-4 win against the Bulldogs. Tanit Lopez Lopez and Anastasia Cobanovic needed the tie breaker to collect the point to give Southern Miss the 1-0 lead after Tjasa Jerse and Arina Amaning dropped the match on court 1.
Roca made it 13-straight wins on Wednesday defeating her opponent 6-2, 6-1 on court 5. Jerse made it an easy 3-0 win with her 6-0, 6-0 win on court 4. Jerse has now won her last six matches in singles play.
Rikeetha Pereira clinched Wednesday's match with a 6-0, 6-0 performance. Pereira now has 10-straight wins.
Amaning and Claudia Castella's singles win made it 6-0 but Lopez dropped the match on court 3 to drop the sweep.
Southern Miss competes in one more match in Orlando against Florida A&M at 11 a.m.
