
Women's Tennis Finish 4-0 In Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. - Southern Miss women's tennis concluded its trip to Florida with a 7-0 win against Florida A&M University.
The Golden Eagles went 4-0 while in Orlando, including two sweeps (Fairleigh Dickinson and FAMU). Friday's sweep was the seventh sweep this season for Southern Miss.
All doubles matches were needed to decide the doubles point after court 1 and 2 split the matches. Anastasia Cobanovic and Tanit Lopez Lopez clinched the doubles point with their third straight doubles win together. Southern Miss won every doubles point in the four matches this week.
Arina Amaning had a dominating performance on court 1 defeating Karen Machisa 6-0, 6-0 on court 1. Amining extended her win streak to four matches, the longest of the freshman's season.
Elena Roca continues her impressive undefeated campaign making it 14-straight wins after her 6-1, 6-1 win on court 5. Roca is now 15-0 on the season and has only two unfinished matches.
Tjasa Jerse and Rikeetha Pereira added two more singles wins for the Golden Eagles, clinching the Golden Eagles' 15th win of the season.
Lopez won her first singles match in Florida on Friday with a 6-3, 6-0 win on court 3, her fourth singles win of the season. Claudia Castella closed out singles play and completed the sweep with a 7-5, 6-0 win on court 6. Castella is now 8-2 on the season.
Southern Miss returns to Mississippi on March 29 and travels to Alcorn to play Alcorn State at 2:30 p.m.
