South Alabama
The Jaguars are coming off a win in their first game of the season against Spring Hill, 75-57. Sophomore Antoinette Lewis leads in both rebounds and assists on the team with 18 and 13, respectively. Shaforia Kines leads the team in assists with seven.
Quotable – Joye Lee-McNelis
"South Alabama is a very good basketball team. They have Shaforia Kines that's a great guard and Antoinette Lewis is really good. They've got a good post presence and guard presence that can really shoot the cover off the basketball. They run a lot of four-out and one-in action. Savannah Jones who is from the Mississippi Gulf Coast, I don't think she could miss a shot, and we couldn't guard her at all. Coach Terry Fowler and his staff does a tremendous job of really getting that team to play extremely well. They had a lot of success last year, they played in postseason play. It will be interesting to see how this young team handles this first game on the road. Costa Rica may have helped us because when it was game day we traveled, we did things, and then we played, so at least we've had some exposure to that. The pressure is a little different now because season is on. They are a very good basketball team and we've got to make some changes to our game in a short amount of time."
