HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss Track Alum Tori Bowie grabs Bronze in the Women's 200m race at the Rio Olympics.
Bowie ran a stunning race in the semi-finals on Aug. 16, winning her heat with a time of 22.13 seconds. That time would qualify her for the finals that took place Aug. 17 at 8:30 p.m.
First in the standings going into the finals, Bowie was set in Lane 5, placing her between the favorites of Jamaica's Elaine Thompson and the Netherlands Dafne Schippers. A stumble around the fourth meter held Bowie back from the strong start she was hoping for but did not stop her from earning her second medal in Rio, finishing in 22.15 seconds.
Bowie looks to earn her third medal in the 4X100m relay that starts Thursday, Aug. 18 at 9:20 a.m.
