Taylor and Lee Earn All-Academic First Team Awards

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Brittany Taylor and Lyndsey Lee of the Southern Miss women's soccer team were named to the 2016 C-USA InTouch Credit Union's All-Academic First Team.
This is the third year in a row Taylor has been named to the All-Academic first team. Taylor, the senior from Calgary, Alberta Canada, maintains a 3.73 average majoring in banking and finance.
Taylor recorded five shutouts for the Golden Eagles and made 90 saves this season. In her 1,400 plus minutes, Taylor allowed only 17 goals averaging to 1.02 goals against. Taylor holds the Southern Miss record for most saves with 128 in 2013 and the 6th place record with 90 saves this season.
This is the first C-USA award for Lee. The junior midfielder from Picayune, Miss., maintains a 4.0 in nursing. Lee started in 12 of the 17 games while recording two assists and 24 shots this season.
A Southern Miss student-athlete has earned First Team All-Academic Honors since 2010. This years two honors are the 15th and 16th All-Academic awards in school history.
