Golden Eagles Hit The Road One Last Time

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss soccer team travels to El Paso, Texas, Friday for their final regular season Conference USA game against UTEP. Game time is set for 8 p.m. CT.
After earning four points in C-USA action last week, the Golden Eagles are looking to get a win on the road to give them the best chance of getting into the conference tournament.
The Golden Eagles battled to 1-1 draw against UAB on Thursday, but turned around and shutout Middle Tennessee on Senior Day, 4-0. Stephanie Garcia led the team to its eighth win of the season when she recorded her first hat trick of her college career. Becky McMullan also added a goal to her name tying her with Bri Schubeck and Katie Richmond with four goals each this season.
The Golden Eagles travel to take on the 11-6-2 UTEP Miners. The Miners are on a two-game losing streak and host the Golden Eagles for their last game of the season. The Miners are sitting in 7th place in conference going into the final week of conference play.
Scouting UTEP: Bri Thomas leads the Miners with six goals and four assists and Aleah Davis holds five goals and seven assists. The Miners have a dynamic offense with more than half the team scoring a goal this season. Alyssa Palacios has made 117 saves and allowed 18 goals in 19 games.
