Elena Roca Soars In Regional Championship

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – Elena Roca won in both finals of singles and doubles action at the ITA Southern Regional Championships on Sunday.
Roca returned to singles action and faced Adrianna Beltrame of Samford and won in two sets 6-2, 6-2. Roca faced Ioana Popescu of ULM in the B singles Main Draw final and won the finals match in two sets 6-4, 6-3. In five matches, Roca lost only one set in the semifinals.
Roca and doubles partner Tjasa Jerse won the B Doubles Main Draw 8-3 against Iryna Vardanian and Judit Castillo of Northwestern State.
Alex Kitchen and Carolin Drescher faced Natalie Suk and Anna Vrbesnka of Ole Miss in the semifinals but lost 6-4, 6-2.
