
Men's Golf Finishes Play in Memphis Intercollegiate on Tuesday

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss men's golf team shot a final-round 307 to finish 13th at the Memphis Intercollegiate played at Colonial Country Club, Tuesday, in Memphis, Tenn.
Redshirt junior Ryan Argotsinger (Kansas City, Mo.) posted a final-round score of two-over par 74 to finish at a plus-three 219 for the event and tied for a 15th-place showing. Senior Hayes Weathersby (Poplarville, Miss.) was next with an 80 in the final round for a 228 total and a 53rd-place tie.
Freshmen Derick Kelting (Amarillo, Texas) and Willie Hammond (Southlake, Texas) each shot a 77, after firing identical rounds in their first two circuits on Monday, as both players finished at 231 for the event and a 59th-place tie. Matt Codd (Red Deer, Alberta), shot his best round of the tournament with a 79 over his last 18 holes to place 75th with a 254 stroke total.
Redshirt freshman Nathan Corchis (Water Sound, Fla.) completed his tournament with an 84 to end the event with a 239 and 72nd place.
Tournament host Memphis won the event with a five-under par 859 over the 54 holes, defeating Arkansas State (862) by three strokes. Lipscomb's Dawson Armstrong shot an eight-under 208 to win individual medalist honors, defeating Thomas Perrot by a stroke.
Lipscomb finished third in the event with an 867, followed by North Texas (875), Middle Tennessee (876), Little Rock (878), Cincinnati (884), WKU (885), Belmont (890), Presbyterian (893), Central Arkansas (894), UT Martin (897) and Southern Miss.
The Golden Eagles return to action when they travel to Houston to play in the Bayou City Classic, Oct. 12-13, at the Golfcrest Country Club.
