Golden Eagles Use Jace LaCoste Invitational as Final Tune-up

STARKVILLE, Miss. - The Southern Miss men's and women's track and field teams used the Jace LaCoste Invitational as their final tune-up in gearing up for the Conference USA Championships.
The Golden Eagles collected six event titles and 30 individuals place in the top eight finishes in events.
Mariam Kromah placed first in the 200 meters with a time of 23.83 while Rebecca Ulrich finished first in the 5,000 meters with a time of 17:38.60. The 4x100m relay team (LaSpenica Brown-Jazmyne Gilliam-Adrian Allen-Mariam Kromah) posted a time of 45.24 in finishing first.
Rachel Polk placed first in the shot with a throw of 14.87m with Kayla Taylor second with a throw of 14.75m. Brashe' Wood was first in the hammer throw with a mark of 40.45m.
Southern Miss will take next weekend off before traveling to the Conference USA Outdoor Championship, May 14-17 in El Paso, Texas.
