Golden Eagle Track & Field Team Opens Southern Miss Invitational

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - First day action got underway at the Southern Miss Invitational Friday at the Southern Miss Track & Field and Soccer Complex.
Christopher Monroe won the triple jump with a mark of 14.79m followed by teammate Jonathan Ruffin with a second-place finish with a jump of 14.06m.
Brashe' Wood competed in the hammer and recorded a throw of 40.67m. The meet continues Saturday at 10 a.m. with the women's javelin and women's pole vault. The running events begin at 1:10 p.m. with the women's 5000 meters.
