Men's Golf to Participate in Samford Intercollegiate

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss men's golf team travels to Hoover, Ala., for the Samford Intercollegiate. The tournament will be played at the par-72, 7,001-yard Hoover Country Club.
The tournament begins Monday at 8:30 a.m. The teams will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday.
Southern Miss will be joined in the tournament by UALR, Emmanuel College, Lipscomb, Miles College, New Orleans, Nicholls State, Samford, Southern Illinois and Western Kentucky.
Redshirt sophomore Ryan Argotsinger is teeing off in the No. 1 position. He is second on the team with an average of 73.86 strokes and has five top-20 finishes this year.
Senior Drew Kirby will tee off in the No. 2 position. He has a stroke average of 74.43 on the year and three top-20 finishes.
Senior Casey Fernandez, who leads the team with a stroke average of 73.62, will tee off in the No. 3 position. He has finished in the top-20 in four tournaments this year.
Junior Hayes Weathersby is teeing off in the No. 4 position, averaging 75.90 strokes per round. Freshman Vasili Kartos will tee off in the No. 5 position. The Birmingham, Ala., native has a stroke average of 76.71. Junior Tyler Peggs, who is averaging 78.00 strokes, will participate as an individual.
