Men's Golf to Participate in UALR/First Tee Collegiate

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss men's golf team travels to Little Rock, Ark., for the UALR/First Tee Collegiate. The tournament will be played at the par-72, 7,100-yard Chenal Country Club.
The tournament begins Monday at 8 a.m. The teams will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday.
This is the third time that Southern Miss will participate in the tournament and first since 2011 when the Golden Eagles tied for second-place.
Southern Miss will be joined in the tournament by Abilene Christian, UALR, Central Arkansas, Indiana Hills CC, Lipscomb, Louisiana-Monroe, Louisiana Tech, McNeese State, Memphis, Missouri State, Omaha, Oral Roberts, Stephen F. Austin, Tulsa and UT-Martin.
Senior Casey Fernandez, who leads the team with a stroke average of 73.39, will tee off in the No. 1 position. He has three top five finishes on the year, including a second-place finish during their last tournament, the Samford Intercollegiate.
Redshirt sophomore Ryan Argotsinger is teeing off in the No. 2 position. He is second on the team with an average of 73.70 strokes. He has three top-10 finishes this year, including a career-best third-place at the Samford Intercollegiate.
Junior Hayes Weathersby is teeing off in the No. 3 position. He has a strokes average of 75.48 and is coming off his first career victory at the Samford Intercollegiate.
Senior Drew Kirby will tee off in the No. 4 position. He has a stroke average of 74.35 on the year and four top-20 finishes and freshman Vasili Kartos will tee off in the No. 5 position. The Birmingham, Ala., native has a stroke average of 76.96.
