
Women's Tennis Team Falls To ULM 5-2

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss women's tennis team dropped a match to ULM 5-2 on Saturday afternoon at the USM Tennis Courts.
The Golden Eagles dropped to 8-8 overall while ULM improved to 10-4.
ULM opened the match by sweeping the doubles. Carolin Drescher and Alex Kitchen lost to Petra Horakova and Sophie Rufyikiri 6-4 at No. 1 while Claudia Castella and Lisa Schneider lost to Jana Duhanova and Anandhi Botha 6-3 at No. 2. Elena Roca and Kathrin Waidner lost to Amy Olivier and Letha Gaigher 6-4.
Southern Miss got a pair of wins in the singles when Kitchen defeated Botha at No. 4 with a 6-0, 6-2 win. Drescher topped Olivier 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1.
ULM posted wins at No. 2, No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6.
Southern Miss returns to the courts on Sunday at 10 a.m. against UTEP.
