HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The first round of the Southern Miss Lady Eagle Invitational slated for the Hattiesburg Country Club was postponed here Monday due to a wet course.
Heavy rains pelted the area overnight and the precipitation did not leave the area until just after lunch, forcing the postponement of the first round.
The weather postponement shortened the tournament to now 18 holes, which will be played Tuesday, beginning at 7:30 a.m., with a fixed start and groups opening play on the 1st and 10th holes. Tee times will take place every eight minutes at those two holes.
The 16-team event includes Austin Peay, Belmont, Jackson State, ULM, Marshall, Memphis, New Orleans, South Alabama, Stephen F. Austin, Tennessee Tech, Texas-Pan American, Troy, UAB, West Florida, William Carey and host Southern Miss.
