Kevin Brady Places Third at the Inaugural Magnolia Amateur

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss junior golfer Kevin Brady shot six-under par to earn third-place at the inaugural Magnolia Amateur, played this past weekend at Hattiesburg Country Club.
Brady opened with a 69 to begin the three-day event. He then shot a 67 before closing out the tournament with an even-par 71.
Brady was just one of a group of current and former Golden Eagles to participate in the event. Sophomore Drew Kirby also earned a top ten finish, tying for ninth-place at one-over par, with scores of 69-70-75. Tyler Peggs, who will join the Golden Eagles this year as a freshman, shot six-over par to tie for 21st-place.
Former Southern Miss golfer Derek Plucienski finished the three-day event at nine-over par. He had scores of 75-74-73 to finish in a 29th-place tie. Junior Trent Hillis tied for 39th-place, shooting posting rounds of 75-78-72 to tie for 39th.
Brady will continue his summer when he participates in the 106th Southern Amateur to be played at Chenal Country Club in Little Rock, Ark., July 18-21.
