Estep Tied for Seventh-Place at Border Olympics

Laredo, Texas - Sophomore Zach Estep is tied for seventh-place heading into the final round of the Border Olympics, hosted by Houston at the par-72, 7,319-yard Laredo Country Club.
Estep is two-over par after firing rounds of 74 and 72 for a 54-hole score of 146. The second round 72 was his 10th round of par or better this year and 14th of his career.
Senior Derek Plucienski is in a four-way tie for 48th-place at 10-over par after opening with an 80 before carding a 74.
Freshman Casey Fernandez opened with rounds of 76 and 81 to sit 13-over par in a 42nd-place tie. Sophomore Kevin Brady is tied for 70th-place at 15-over par after shooting a 79 and 80. Senior Nick Brown closes out the scoring for Southern Miss, as he shot rounds of 75 and 87 to tie for 81st-place.
The Golden Eagles shot rounds of 304 and 307 to sit 35-over par in 11th-place, two shots back of VCU and Rice.
Lamar leads the tournament at six-over par with a 36-hole score of 582. Houston is in second-place at nine-over par.
Lamar's M.J. Dafue leads the individual tournament at three-under par, one shot ahead of Baylor's Mikkel Bjerch-Andresen.
