Men's Golf in Sixth-place at Argent Financial Classic

Choudrant, La. - The Southern Miss men's golf team is tied for sixth-place heading into the third round of the third annual Argent Financial Classic, hosted by Louisiana Tech at the par-72, 7,105-yard Squire Creek Country Club.
The Golden Eagles shot an second round 295 to sit 18-over par, one shot back of Arkansas-Little Rock and two shots back of Jacksonville State.
Senior Derek Plucienski is in a five-way tie for 18th-place at two-over par after shooting a 75 for a 36-hole score of 146.
Trent Hillis, playing as an individual, is tied for 26th-place after shooting a 76 for a two-round total of 149, five-over par.
Freshman Casey Fernandez and sophomore Kevin Brady are tied for 28th-place at six-over par after opening with a 73. Fernandez fired a 71, his fourth round of par or better on the year, while Brady shot a 77.
Zach Estep and Nick Brown are tied for 40th-place at nine-over par. Estep fired a 72, his team-leading eighth round of par or better this year, while Brown shot a 77.
LSU leads the tournament at even par with an 36-hole score of 576. Louisiana Tech is in second-place at six-over par.
LSU's Smylie Kaufman leads the individual tournament at three-under par, one shot ahead of teammate Sang Yi, Cody Blankenship of Louisiana Tech and Middle Tennessee State's Brad Simons.
