Men's Golf Heads to Argent Financial Classic

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss heads to Louisiana for the second straight week when it travels to Choudrant, La., to play in the third annual Argent Financial Classic, Sunday-Tuesday and hosted by Louisiana Tech at the par-72, 7,105-yard Squire Creek Country Club.
Southern Miss will be joined in the tournament by four teams who are ranked in Golfweek's Top 100, led by No. 18 LSU. Also in the Top 100 are No. 38 Middle Tennessee State, No. 75 Louisiana Tech and No. 92 Jacksonville State.
Arkansas-Little Rock, Missouri State, Rice and UT-San Antonio will also participate.
Derek Plucienski, Zach Estep, Kevin Brady, Casey Fernandez and Nick Brown will participate in the team competition. In addition, Trent Hillis will participate as an individual.
Estep leads the Golden Eagles with a 72.8 stroke average in 17 rounds with one top five and two top ten finishes. Brady is averaging 74.0 and Hillis is averaging 74.4.
The tournament begins Sunday with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. The teams will play 18 holes each day on Sunday through Tuesday.
