Cross Country Team Opens Season at McNeese Cross Country Relay

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss women's cross country team opened the 2011 season at the McNeese Cross Country Relay in Lake Charles, La., on Friday.

The meet's relay format saw multiple runner pairs from different schools run in a relay in order to complete the course.

The Golden Eagle pair of Krista Moylan and Jocelyn Lockhart was the top finishers for Southern Miss, covering the 6K course in a time of 21:17 to finish fourth overall. The team of Stephanie Ledgerwood and Kara Moylan finished seventh overall with a time of 21:56.

Southern Miss will travel to Auburn, Ala., for the Auburn Invitational, Sept. 9.
