Golden Eagle Cross Country Opens Season at North Alabama Showcase

HATTIESBURG, Miss.— The Golden Eagle cross country team opens their 2022 season at the North Alabama Showcase at John Hunt Park in Huntsville, Ala., on Friday, Sept. 16 at 8:15 a.m.Â
Returners for the 2022 season include seniors Carlin Beal and Katelyn Cartwright. Sarah Parnell also returns for her junior campaign. Indoor track competitors Oliwia Wawrzyniak and Smilla Kolbe join the squad and will compete in their first cross-country season.Â
Newcomers include transfer Erin Phelps and freshman Rees Van Voorhis and Isabela Ross.Â
Schools set to compete alongside the Golden Eagles are Alabama, Alabama A&M, Alabama State, Alcorn State, Auburn, Austin Peay State, Bellarmine, Birmingham-Southern, Bryan, Calhoun CC, Chattanooga, Covenant, Cumberland (Tenn.), Eastern Florida, Emmanuel (Ga.), Florida Gulf Coast, Gadsden State C.C., Georgia, Georgia State, Georgia Tech, Jacksonville State, Kennesaw State, Kentucky, Lamar, Lee (Tenn.), Memphis, Mississippi College, Mississippi State, New Orleans, North Alabama, Queens (N.C.), Samford, South Alabama, South Florida, Southern Indiana, Troy, Wallace State, UAB, UCF, Western Kentucky, and William Carey.
