Fort Worth, Texas - The final round of the UTA/Waterchase Invitational was cancelled Tuesday due to an infestation of bees at the golf course.
A large limb fell from a tree next to the 18th green which exposed the beehive and in a matter of minutes that portion of the course was under siege from the bees.
A beekeeper was called to course, and after consultation with him, it was determined the tournament should be called. The beekeeper's work would have taken at least a hour to finish and then he suggested the course be cleared for the remainder of the day.
Players had completed about six holes when the delay started just over two hours after the start of round three.
The final results revert back to Monday's two rounds, which had Wichita State winning the tournament and the Shockers' Rafael Becker winning the individual title.
Southern Miss tied for ninth and sophomore Zach Estep led the Golden Eagles in a tie for 21st-place.
