Men's Golf Travels to UTA/Waterchase Invitational

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss continues its 2011-12 men's golf fall season when it travels to the UTA/Waterchase Invitational, Monday and Tuesday. The tournament will be played at the par 72, 7,289 yard Waterchase Golf Club in Fort Worth, Texas.
Southern Miss will be joined in the tournament by Arkansas State, Central Arkansas, Houston Baptist, Kansas State, Louisiana-Monroe, Louisiana Tech, McNeese State, Mercer, Nicholls State, Sam Houston State, Southern Illinois, Stephen F. Austin, UT-Arlington, UT-Pan American, UT-San Antonio and Wichita State.
Last year, the Golden Eagles finished in second-place at the UTA/Waterchase Invitational. Derek Plucienski shared medalist honors, finishing seven-under par and setting a new school 36-hole record of 133.
Last week, Southern Miss finished in seventh-place at the season-opening Sam Hall Intercollegiate. Zach Estep and Kevin Brady both recorded their first career top ten finishes, tying for sixth and 10th place, respectively.
The tournament begins Monday with a shotgun start at 8:00 a.m. The teams will play 36 holes on Monday, followed by the final 18 on Tuesday.
