Nick Brown Named Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-American Scholar

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss men's golfer Nick Brown was named a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-American Scholar, announced today by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
A total of 138 players in Division I, 49 in Division II and three in NAIA earned the honor. To be eligible for Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least two full years at the collegiate level, participate in 70-percent of his team's competitive rounds or compete in the NCAA Championships, have a stroke-average under 76.0 in Division I and maintain a minimum cu¬mulative grade-point average of 3.2.
Brown claimed the All-Academic accolade as a business administration student with a 3.51 GPA. The Meridian, Miss., native is a three-time Conference USA Commissioner's Honor Roll member, and was named to the Athletic Director's Honor Roll this past spring.
The redshirt junior was second on the team with a 74.17 stroke average. He had two top ten and four Top 20 finishes on the season, including a career-best seventh-place finish at the UALR/First Tee Collegiate Classic. Brown fired a season-low 68 to open the season at the Sam Hall Intercollegiate.
This is the second postseason honor for Brown, as he was named to the Conference USA All-Academic Team in April.
