Plucienski Holds Steady After Two Rounds at Southern Amateur Championship

PORT HARBOR, Fla. - Southern Miss' Derek Plucienski shot a three-over 74 today in the second round of the 105th Southern Amateur Championship held at the Par 71, 7,250 yard Innisbrook Golf Club on Wednesday.
A day after shooting a one-under 71, Plucienski went up two strokes through four holes after a pair of bogeys in the third and fourth holes. He closed the first nine with another bogey on the ninth but was able to cut a stroke off his tally with a bird on hole 11.
Another bogey on 14 left Plucienski to run level the rest of the way and finish at three-over for the day and four-over for the event.
With a two round total of 146 (72-74), Plucienski sits in a tie for 42nd place heading into the third round.
Two men sit atop the leaderboard with a six-under 136, Gregor Main and Ryan Fox. Fox was among two men in the second round to shoot a round-low of 66.
He will return to the course for the third round at 7:50 A.M. and will begin on the back nine.
