Women's Tennis Netters Fall to ULM, 5-2

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss women's tennis team fell, 5-2, to ULM Friday afternoon at the USM Tennis Courts.
The Golden Eagles dropped the doubles point with two of the three pairs falling. Zoë Lee and Shannon Rogers got a break point late in the match and won in a tie-breaker at No. 3 doubles, 8-7 (7-3) over Ana Burjaili and Vivian Polak (ULM).
In singles, Stephanie Dellocono beat Monica Winkel 6-4, 6-3 at No. 2 and Elja van Berlo beat Medy Blankvoort in a three setter 6-0, 2-6, 7-6 (8-6). Freshman Åsa Bengtson was defeated in two sets at 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 and Morea Williams lost to Burjaili at No. 4, 6-1, 6-1. Lee dropped her match at No. 5 to Polak, 6-1, 6-3 and Rogers lost to Letha Gaigher, 6-4, 6-1.
Southern Miss hits the courts again on Sunday to host Lamar at 10 a.m.
