Women's Soccer Earns National Academic Award

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss women's soccer team was named to the 2011 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) College Team Academic Award list for the fourth consecutive years. Teams must have a team grade-point average of 3.0 or higher to qualify for this honor.
Head Coach Scott Ebke's squad boasts a team grade-point average of 3.22 and also earned a pair of all-academic awards from Conference USA this season. The Golden Eagles were one of 10 C-USA schools to receive the honor. Memphis, UAB, Marshall, UTEP, UCF, SMU, Rice, Tulsa and East Carolina were also named to the award list.
The NSCAA honors men's and women's teams across the United States. This year, 787 programs earned the academic award (219 men's and 568 women's teams), including 153 institutions who were represented on both men's and women's lists.
