Baseball Program Adds Additional Winter Camp Opportunities

HATTIESBURG, Miss - Southern Miss head baseball coach Scott Berry announced today the addition of a winter baseball showcase to be held in November, in addition to the camps already announced.
The annual Fall League will begin on September 2 with games played on Tuesday and Thursday nights. The Fall Instructional Baseball Camp is designed to allow high school ballplayers to continue developing their skills after the completion of summer baseball and will run on Tuesday's and Thursday's this fall.
The camp will consist of four teams made up of 15 players on each team. All instruction and coaching will be provided by members of the Southern Miss coaching staff as well as members of the Southern Miss baseball team. All practices and games will take place at Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field.
The camp is open to players who are sophomores, juniors or seniors in high school (graduating years of 11, '12, and '13.)
Due to the popularity of previous fall instructional camps at Southern Miss it is highly suggested to register as soon as possible to secure a roster spot.
Each Monday night in October Southern Miss will over "Hitting Under the Lights," a hitting only camp each Monday night in October. The camp is limited to the first 30 applicants in grades 7-12.
On November 21 and January 15 the Golden Eagle Baseball Program will host showcase camps, giving high school age players a chance to work through a pro style workout at Pete Taylor Park. Expected to be in attendance are both collegiate and professional scouts.
Each date is limited to the first 100 applicants in grades 9-12.
