2010 Baseball Team to Receive C-USA Championship Rings Saturday

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The 2010 Southern Miss baseball team will be recognized on the field at halftime this Saturday during the UAB football game for their 2010 C-USA Championship.
The team will be presented their 2010 C-USA Championship rings at a private ceremony Saturday morning and will take the field at halftime where each player will be introduced to the crowd.
In coach Scott Berry's first season at the helm of the Golden Eagles, his squad compiled a 36-24 record while winning the 2010 C-USA Tournament and advancing to their eighth consecutive NCAA Regional before falling to host Auburn and eventual College World Series participant Clemson.
The 2010 team earned the No. 2 seed in the Conference USA Tournament and defeated No. 20 ranked Rice 7-4 at the University of Houston's Cougar Field to claim the school's second C-USA Tournament title and secure an automatic berth to the NCAA Regional.
Individually pitcher Scott Copeland and infielder B.A. Vollmuth both earned All-American honors. While both Copeland and Vollmuth along with pitchers Collin Cargill and Todd McInnis all garnered first team All-C-USA honors. Freshman Dillon Day was recognized on the C-USA All-Freshman team and Taylor Walker and McInnis earned C-USA Academic Honors.
