Former Golfer Steve Wilson to Participate in 2009 Masters

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Former Southern Miss golfer Steve Wilson will participate in the 2009 Masters, becoming the first Golden Eagle to play the prestigious event.
The Masters will be held April 9-12 at Augusta National Golf Club in Augusta, Ga.
Wilson won the U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship in September to earn an invitation to the tournament. He will be one of five amateurs vying for the Green Jacket.
The Ocean Springs native will be paired in the first two rounds with Ian Poulter and two-time Masters Champion Tom Watson.
Wilson was a member of the Southern Miss men's golf team in 1991.
