Baseball Ranked as High as No. 26 in National Polls

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss baseball team is ranked No. 26 in the nation by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association and No. 27 by Collegiate Baseball.

Southern Miss, (10-2) went 3-1 for the past week, defeating Southeastern Louisiana, 4-2, on Tuesday before winning 2-of-3 against No. 29 Lousiiana-Lafayette this past weekend. The Golden Eagles won Friday's game, 7-4, dropped Saturday's contest, 4-0, before score a run with two outs in the bottom of the ninth to win Sunday's game, 1-0.

In the College Baseball Poll, Rice is No. 10, Ole Miss is No. 16 and Alabama is No. 22. In the NCBWA Poll, Rice is No. 9, Alabama is No. 13, Ole Miss is No. 16 and Tulane is No. 28.
