Gold Defeats Black 6-2 in Annual Fall Baseball Game

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Bo Davis collected four hits while Anthony Doss and Jordan King drove in two runs each to lead the Gold squad over the Black, 6-2, here Saturday afternoon in the Southern Miss Annual end of fall baseball game.
The game remained scoreless until the bottom of the third when King drove in the game's first runs with a two-RBI single.
The Gold extended the lead three innings later as Adam Doleac collected a two-run single, while Doss added a single which drove home two more. Keith Winstead completed the Gold scoring just one frame later with a run-scoring double.
The Black team got both of its runs in the eighth to close the gap. Corey Stevens led off the frame with a walk, before Josh Fields delivered a single up the middle. Stevens later scored on a wild pitch, while Fields was plated on a Daniel Covert groundout.
Gold starter David Clark did not allow a run over three innings, while scattering three hits and fanning five to get the victory. Black starter Barry Bowden got touched up for two runs on four hits with a walk and two strikeouts to suffer the loss.
Doleac and Doss added two hits each for the Gold, while the Black squad got two hits each from Kyle Maxie and Stevens.
