Southern Miss Baseball Offers Trio of Winter Camps

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- - A trio of baseball winter camps, for those individuals looking to improve their skills for the 2007 spring seasons, are being made available by Southern Miss this December.
The camps include a Showcase (Dec. 2), a Pitcher/Catcher camp (Dec. 28) and a Hitting Camp (Dec. 29-30). All three events will take place on the Southern Miss campus at Pete Taylor Park/Hill Denson Field.
The one-day Showcase will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and participants will have the opportunity to show their skills through different types of testing over the course of the day in front of collegiate coaches and professional scouts. Cost of that event is $100.
Later that month, Southern Miss is offering two camps over a three-day period. The one-day Pitcher/Catcher Camp takes place prior to the two-day Hitting Camp. Times each day runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., for both camps and they are open to those individuals 12 years of age to graduating seniors in high school.
Cost of the Pitcher/Catcher Camp is $75 and the Hitting Camp is $150, while admission to both camps is $200. The fee will provide a t-shirt, baseballs, field and facility usage, instruction and secondary insurance coverage.
These camps follow the school's Fall Instructional League, which takes places every Tuesday and Thursday during the month of September (beginning Sept. 5), which is open to individuals in grades 10 through 12. Cost for the Instructional League is $175.
