Keefe Named To NGCA All-American Scholar Team
HATTIESBURG, Miss.
-- Southern Miss women's golfer Jennifer Keefe has been selected as one of more than 300 collegiate players to be named to the National Golf Coaches Association (NCGA) All-American Scholar teams, recently announced by the organization.
Keefe, a Winterpark, Fla., native, recently completed her junior season in the spring, leading the Lady Eagles in scoring average with 77.46 shots per round. She took home medalist honors in the Northern Illinois University Snowbird Classic in March, while also finishing in the top 15 of each of her five spring events. In the fall, she had a scoring average of 78.3 and was in the top 25 in three of her four events.
"Jennifer has an outstanding work ethic, and she is extremely bright and talented," Southern Miss Women's Golf Coach Julie Gallup said. "When you combine all those aspects with her excellence on the course, you get an outstanding student-athlete."
Keefe was one of 318 women's collegiate golfers from NCAA Division I, II and III teams who were recognized for this prestigious honor.
The criteria for selection to the All-American Scholar Team are some of the most stringent of all college athletics. The minimum cumulative GPA is 3.50 (3.40 for seniors in Division II and III) and student-athletes must have competed in at least 66 percent of the college?s regularly scheduled competitive rounds during the year.
