Baseball Ranked As High As No. 11 In Latest Polls HATTIESBURG, Miss. ?
Southern Miss (29-8, 12-2 Conference USA) dropped a midweek game at Southeastern Louisiana (5-3) on Tuesday, won Friday against Memphis (6-2), won Saturday against Memphis (10-5) and dropped Sunday's game against Memphis (5-4).
East Carolinais ranked No. 9 by Baseball America, No. 10 by the NCBWA, No. 12 by Sports Weekly/ESPN Coaches Poll and No. 16 by Collegiate Baseball, marking the highest-ranked team in Conference USA. Tulane is ranked No. 15 by the NCBWA, No. 18 by Baseball America, No. 26 by Collegiate Baseball and No. 21 by the Sports Weekly/ESPN Coaches Poll. Tulane and USF are receiving votes in the Coaches Poll.
Southern Miss returns to action on Tuesday night when the Golden Eagles travel to Oxford, Miss., for a 6:30 p.m., contest with No. 5 Ole Miss at Swayze Field.The Golden Eagles then travel to New Orleans, La., for a three-game weekend Conference USA series at Turchin Stadium on Friday-Sunday, April 23-25. Friday's game starts at 6:30 p.m., Saturday's game at 2 p.m., and Sunday's at 1 p.m.
