Lady Eagles Tie Southwest Texas State In Soccer NEW ORLEANS, La. -
Southwest Texas State scored first in the 25th minute of play on a goal by Jaynee Sherman. Southern Miss tied the score at 1-1 when Sarah Brennan knocked in a goal with just 17 seconds remaining before halftime.
Southern Miss (1-0-1) had an opportunity to win the game in regulation, but two kicks hit the crossbar. Southwest Texas State (0-1-1) had one shot in the second overtime that hit the crossbar, which also would have won the game.
Southern Miss returns to action, Friday, Sept. 5th, in Birmingham, Ala. ,against Samford. Match time is set for 7 p.m.
