Eagle Golfers Rank Fifth at Fall Beach Classic
GULF SHORES, Ala. -- The Southern Miss men's golf team holds fifth place after the first two rounds of South Alabama's Fall Beach Classic at the Gulf Shores Golf Club. The Eagles scored 280-289 -- 569 on the first day.
Justin Emil leads all USM golfers with 69-70 -- 139, sharing seventh place on the leaderboard. Shane Rushing is tied for 24th with 70-73 -- 143, and Michael Soroka carded 72-72 -- 144 for a tie at 28th. Danny Dennis also tied at 28th, shooting 69-75 -- 144.
Justin Elliott carded 72-74 -- 146 to tie 42nd place. Will Taylor, who is competing as an individual, shares 54th, scoring 75-75 -- 150.
Kentucky and Jacksonville State both hold first place, with each team scoring 559. South Alabama's Gareth Maybin hold first place on the leaderboard, shooting 71-64 -- 135.
The final round of the tournament will start Tuesday morning, Nov. 5.
