Eagle Golfers Rank Fourth at Memphis Tournament
MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- The Southern Miss men's golf team finished the first day of the Hillman Robbins Memorial Intercollegiate ranked fourth, after shooting 301-301 -- 602 at Big Creek Golf Club in Millington, Tenn.
South Alabama turned in a team score of 298-290 -- 588 and holds a two-shot lead over Jacksonville State (300-290 -- 590), going into the final round. UCF ranks third after shooting 300-295 -- 595.
Justin Emil and Matt Wofford lead the Golden Eagles, sharing 11th place. Emil carded 72-78 -- 150, and Wofford finished with 76-74 -- 150.
Shane Rushing and Danny Dennis share 17th place, as Rushing scored 77-74 -- 151, and Dennis shot 76-75 -- 151. Ben Snow is tied for 44th with 78-78 -- 156.
Ryan Gildersleeve of South Alabama has the individual lead after 36 holes with a two-under par of 72-70 -- 142.
Final round action is slated to begin at 8 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct 8.
