Lady Eagles Compete in Exhibition Matches this Weekend
HATTIESBURG, Miss. ? After ending with a 9-8 overall record and a best-ever fifth-place Conference USA finish last season, the Southern Miss women's soccer team begins its 2001 campaign with a pair of exhibition matches this weekend at the Marshall Bell Track and Soccer Complex on West 4th street.

The Lady Eagles take on the Huntsville Kicks at 4:30 p.m., Saturday, and compete against the Alabama Attack Sunday at 12:30 p.m.

Southern Miss, under the direction of second-year Head Coach Matt Clark, returns seven starters from last season, including preseason all-conference selection Tricia Wiles, forward Lindsay Canham, midfielder Katie Adams and defender Kate Bowles.

Admission is free to the public for both matches.

The Lady Eagles begin regular season play in the first-ever Golden Eagle Soccer Classic August 31, against Middle Tennessee State.
