Southern Miss Golfer Qualifies for U.S. Amateur Championship
Golden Eagle golfer Jake Pasch shot a 136 during a U.S. Amateur qualifying tournament in Bloomington, Ill., on Aug. 6, and will compete in the U.S. Amateur Championship on Aug. 20-26 at the East Lake Golf Club, in Atlanta, Ga.
Pasch, who will be a junior in the upcoming school year, averaged 76.3 last spring, competing in four tournaments. His best finish of the spring was placing tied for 28th in the Beau Rivage College Classic, shooting 75-76-78 ? 229.
Last fall, the Bayside, Wisc., native played in five tournaments and placed in the top 25 in two of the tournaments. He stroked an average of 75.7, and his best finish was ninth at the Tulsa Hilton Southern Hills Classic.
