Southern Miss Golfers Rank Fourth At Lamar Tournament
PASS CHRISTIAN, Miss. ? The Southern Miss Men's Golf Team shot 288-294 -- 582 (six over par) to hold fourth place at the Cardinal Classic at The Oak Golf Club. The Golden Eagles trail North Texas (290-283 -- 573), Texas Tech (293-284 -- 577) and host Lamar (289-291) after two rounds.
Tim Yelverton leads the USM linksmen with 73-72 -- 145 (one over) and shares 15th on the leaderboard. Justin Emil is tied for 17th, shooting 73-73 -- 146 on the day.
Jake Pasch scored 68-79 -- 147 to tie for 23rd, and Matt Wofford shot 74-75 -- 149 to hold a part of 29th. Chris Speight finished the day shooting 84-74 -- 158 and shares 60th, while Andy Jacobson, who is competing as an individual, carded 85-76 -- 161 to stand at 66th.
The final round will be held tomorrow with a tee time beginning at 7:30 a.m.
