2021 (COVID-Sr.): Earned Collegiate Baseball second team All-America as well as Conference USA first-team and Pitcher of the Year honors after posting a 10-2 record with a 2.31 ERA his final season…Named a second-team All-South Region pitcher by the American Baseball Coaches Association…Earned Conference USA Pitcher of the Week honors twice, both coinciding with being named a Collegiate Baseball National Player of the Week…Those awards came after limiting Missouri State (3/20) to three hits over eight scoreless innings with one walk and six strikeouts on March 22 and again on May 10 following throwing a complete-game, seven-inning no-hitter against Middle Tennessee (5/8) in which he walked one and fanned 12…It was the school’s first complete-game no-hitter since 2004…It marked the third time in his career he posted double-digit strikeouts in his career…Went 24 consecutive innings without allowing a run, going seven scoreless frames against Jacksonville State (3/6) and eight shutout innings versus both Louisiana-Lafayette (3/13) and Missouri State (3/20) to go along with an inning in a start versus Louisiana Tech (3/27)…Won 16 of his final 18 decisions...Went at least five innings pitched in 23 of his final 26 starts...Ranks 2nd at school for wins with 30, trailing only Todd McInnis (33)...Ranked 1st in NCAA D-I active career leaders for wins (30), 2nd in complete games (10) and 1st in IP (340.0) as the season ended…Named preseason second-team All-America by Collegiate Baseball…Voted Preseason Conference USA Pitcher of the Year by PerfectGame.org.
2020 (R-Sr.): Collected a 3-0 record in four starts, all of his outings going at least seven innings and all were quality starts…Ended the year with 22 strikeouts and only two walks over 29 innings of work…Blanked Murray State (2/15) over seven innings with six hits, no walks and three strikeouts…Followed that with a seven-inning performance over Central Arkansas (2/22), allowing two runs on three hits and a walk with four strikeouts…Tossed complete-game, eight-inning shutout at McNeese (2/29), limiting the Cowboys to six hits, while fanning six and walking none…Earned his fourth career C-USA Pitcher of the Week honor for that performance…Overcame rough first inning in final start to garner win over Little Rock (3/6), allowing four runs (two earned) on seven hits and one walk, while fanning a team-high tying nine in the start…Preseason C-USA pick by the 14 league coaches…Made the Fall 2019 Semester Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.
2019 (R-Jr.): Posted a 6-2 record in 16 starts for the Golden Eagles with a 2.72 ERA en route to Conference USA first-team postseason honors…Led C-USA in ERA and fewest walks allowed (13), while ranking second in innings pitched (99.1)…Amongst nation’s leaders in walks per nine innings (1.18)…His 16 starts ranked tied for first in the league, and he went at least seven innings in eight of those…Held team lead with three complete games, while posting the squad’s only complete-game shutout, blanking Old Dominion (3/22) on three hits and no walks with six strikeouts…Also hurled complete games against Marshall (4/5) in 10-3 victory and at Middle Tennessee (4/26) with a career-high 10 strikeouts in that performance for a 7-1 victory…Also threw nine innings in a no decision versus UAB (5/16), giving up two runs on six hits...Voted Conference USA Pitcher of the Week three times during the year, including following 7 2/3 shutout innings at Mississippi State (2/22), giving up five hits and fanning two in a duel against Bulldog ace Ethan Small before the Eagles won 1-0 in 10 innings…Earned the award following his Old Dominion and Middle Tennessee starts…Named to the Conference USA Preseason all-league team.
2018 (R-So.): Made 16 starts and posted a 7-3 record with a 3.80 ERA after returning from an arm injury…Fanned 62 over 83 innings of work and walked just 14…Had season-high seven strikeouts in a win at Florida Atlantic (3/25) in which he threw a season-best 7 1/3 innings for the victory…Went at least six innings in at least seven starts and seven innings in at least five…Did not allow a walk over his final four appearances, spanning 25 innings to go along with 20 strikeouts over that period…Gave up just eight walks over his final 73 innings of work…Threw six scoreless innings with six punch outs and no walks at Tulane (3/14) in first victory of the season…Earned Dean’s List honors during the Fall 2017 semester.
2017 (So.): Redshirted due to an arm injury.
2016: (Fr.): Appeared in 18 games, taking over the Sunday starting role in May…Finished 4-3 with a 3.46 ERA…Allowed 15 earned runs on 44 hits in 39 innings, with 32 strikeouts and nine walks…Recorded longest outing of the year against Louisiana Tech (5/15) in which he shutout the Bulldogs over 5 1/3 innings for a 2-0 victory…Added wins against Northwestern State (2/26), Samford (3/13) and Middle Tennessee (4/9)…Allowed just one run on eight hits over three innings in Conference USA Tournament vs. Marshall (5/28)…Named to C-USA Commissioner’s Honor Roll.
Prep: Played for Coach Vance Arnold…Three-year letterman, played pitcher, shortstop, third base, first base and second base…As senior, did not pitch, but still helped team to 36-4 mark and reach Class 7A state semifinals…Appeared in 14 games, hitting .226 with four RBIs and 4 runs scored, with a home run, triple and double…As junior, made seven appearances on the mound, posting a 2-0 record with 2.42 ERA and one save…Allowed 15 runs (nine earned) in 26 innings, striking out 26 and walking eight…Opponents hit .231 against him…At the plate, hit .279 in 31 game, with 13 RBIs, six doubles and eight runs scored …Helped team to conference championship and spot in state championship game…As a sophomore, team won state crown…Honor student.
