Lewis and Michalska Named Sun Belt Pair of the Week, Southern Miss Earns Repeat Honors

NEW ORLEANS – Southern Miss' second flight pairing of Abby Lewis (The Woodlands, Texas) and Zuzanna Michalska (Warsaw, Poland) earned the Sun Belt Conference's second Pair of the Week honors as announced by the league today.
Lewis and Michalska have anchored the Golden Eagles' second pairing for the 2026 season and own a 4-4 ledger through eight duals. The pairing posted a 2-2 record at last weekend's Tiger Beach Challenge, taking matches over No. 12 LSU and No. 18 Washington to highlight their time in Baton Rouge.
The pairing opened the weekend with a sweep over No. 12 LSU's No. 2 pairing, cruising 21-14 and 21-17. Fell in three sets to North Alabama's 2s, falling 15-13 in the deciding set, to end day one of the tournament. Responded with a win over No. 18 Washington's second flight, dominating 21-11in the second set to clinch the two-set win.
Finished the weekend with a loss to (RV) Tulane's second flight, falling by a combined eight points over their two-set loss.
Lewis and Michalska's nod is the second of the year by a Southern Miss pairing after Laurel Dennis (Gulfport, Miss.) and Sadie McAda (Pleasanton, Texas) took the first of the 2026 season last week.
Southern Miss' next action in the sand takes the Golden Eagles to Tempe, Ariz., for the two-day Sun Devil Classic. The first dual of the weekend is set for Friday, March 6, against Stephen F. Austin.
