Ward Breaks School Record, Finishes Runner-Up at NCAA Championships

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – DeAundre Ward delivered a historic performance in the long jump Friday night at the NCAA Indoor Championships, finishing second and breaking the Southern Miss school record with a jump of 8.20 meters. Ward's performance,
naming him a First Team All-American, replaced his previous record jump of 7.82 meters which he set during the 2024 indoor season.

Tyler Nichols also represented Southern Miss in the long jump, placing ninth overall at the NCAA Indoor Championships with a jump of 7.85 meters to be a Second Team All-American selection.
Piers Cameron is set to compete at 2 p.m. CST in the men's shot put event on Saturday to close out the Golden Eagles' indoor season.
