Dennis & McAda Take First Sun Belt Conference Beach Volleyball Pair of the Week Honors

NEW ORLEANS – Southern Miss' top flight pairing of Laurel Dennis (Gulfport, Miss.) and Sadie McAda (Pleasanton, Texas) earned the Sun Belt Conference's first beach volleyball Pair of the Week Award after posting a 3-1 record in opening week at the Third Coast Challenge.
The duo made their first appearance as the Golden Eagles' top flight pairing since 2024 against Saint Mary's where they took a three-set victory over the Gaels. The pair swept Tarleton State to contribute to Southern Miss' first win of the season and finish opening day 2-0.
The suffered their only setback against No. 3 Cal Poly's top pairing before rebounding with a two-set sweep over Houston Christian to end the weekend 3-1 overall.
Dennis and McAda entered the 2026 season with a 38-37 career record together having played in every dual together since they both joined the Golden Eagles in 2024. The pair is now 41-38 all-time and 8-10 all-time as the No. 1 pairing after a 5-9 record in 2024.
Last season, the pairing posted a 22-17 record after playing in all 39 games at the second position. They hold a 32-29 record at the second pairing and 1-1 all-time record at the third. They became the first pairing in program history to win 35-or-more games last season and will continue to break their own record as the season advances.
