HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss (12-12, 5-7 Sun Belt) returns to Reed Green Coliseum for its final week of home games this season to take on ULM (11-12, 5-8 Sun Belt). Tipoff for the 32nd all-time meeting between the two storied programs is set for 5 p.m. with airings on ESPN+ and the Southern Miss Sports Network.
The game will be the first of two games at Reed Green Coliseum Thursday night with the men's basketball team taking on South Alabama immediately following the women's game. Parking will be enforced according to men's basketball parking passes in M.K. Turk Circle, Kay James Drive and the Pete Taylor Lot. Handicap spaces will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
The Lady Eagles will also celebrate Black History Month throughout the game with recognitions throughout the game. The Mu Nu Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., will be recognized at halftime for winning the homecoming step show competition while fans can pick up the newest pack of basketball players cards on the concourse.
Southern Miss looks to begin a strong finish to the season with just six games left to play in the regular season. The Lady Eagles' game against ULM is the first of two against the Warhawks in the next three weeks. Southern Miss fell 76-67 at Toledo in its last time out in the MAC-SBC Challenge to fall to 12-12 on the season and 3-8 in the year 2026. Missy Bilderback and ULM head coach Scotty Fletcher are quite familiar with one another as they squared off 16 times as coaches at Jones County Junior College and Pearl River Community College, respectively.
The two coaches both arrived at their respective schools for the 2015-16 season and played 16 games between them before Bilderback's departure to ULM in 2023-24. Bilderback finished 14-2 against Fletcher overall and 3-0 in postseason games. ULM welcomed 14 newcomers to the squad this offseason after losing all players from the 2024-25 with five departures landing at Southern Miss.
Fletcher finished 164-75 in 10 seasons at Pearl River including four-straight 20-win seasons to conclude his tenure. His squad at ULM is made up of five of his former players at PRCC and nine other transfers – four from junior colleges and five from Division I institutions.
J'Mani Ingram leads ULM with 11.9 points per game and is closely followed by Nakiyah Mays-Prince's 10.4 points per game. Ingram, a transfer from App State, and Mays-Prince, a transfer from Georgia Southern, both played Southern Miss last season. Biloxi, Miss., native Marcavia Shavers paces the team with 9.2 rebounds per game alongside her 9.7 points per game.
Southern Miss leads the all-time series 18-13 over ULM despite the five-game Warhawk streak that Bilderback built up over the past two seasons. The Lady Eagles are 12-3 all-time against the Warhawks in Reed Green Coliseum.
