Cuyvers Goes Low in Final Branch Law Firm/McGuire Invitational Round

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Louise Cuyvers delivered the first under-par round for Southern Miss this season, which wrapped up the final day of play at the Branch Law Firm/McGuire Invitational. Sacramento State took home the team title, while fellow Sun Belt member South Alabama claimed third.

Cuyvers started her day with a bogey on hole 15 but quickly responded with a pair of birdies over the next three holes. She added another birdie on the third hole, then a final birdie on hole 13 to finish with a two-under 70 on Tuesday. Taylor Trible finished her week with a seven-over 79 to finish in a tie for 62nd. The senior posted one birdie on the par-four fourth hole. Newcomers Liv Romer and Morgan Guepet both finished in a tie for 66th.

Romer delivered her best round of the tournament, shooting a one-over 73. The junior posted three birdies on the day, besting her day one total of one. Meanwhile, Guepet matched her Monday afternoon round with another six-over 78 to close out her 54 holes. Savannah Van Gaalen posted a 10-over 82 in her final round.

The Golden Eagles are back next Monday at The Lady Clerico Invitational in Bartlesville, Okla. The two-day event starts on Sept. 15 at Hillcrest Country Club and will be hosted by Oral Roberts.
