HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss women's tennis is set to open its fall season in DeLand, Fla., as the Golden Eagles travel to compete in the Stetson Fall Invitational at the Mandy Stoll Tennis Center.
The Golden Eagles bring a full travel squad, including Hannah Chambers, Gagana Mohan Kumar, Sakura Sudo, Miranda Xu, Kamornwan Kornsila, Pimmada Lim, Mia Hasashi-Morrissey, and Celine Mosteanu. With depth across the roster, the Invitational offers an early chance for the Golden Eagles to test themselves against quality competition and begin laying the foundation for the spring dual season.
Southern Miss is eager to see continued development from its returning players while also giving newcomers a platform to showcase their potential. Sakura Sudo will look to build on her steady play from last spring, while Hannah Chambers and Kamornwan Kornsila bring experience and consistency to both singles and doubles. Meanwhile, freshman additions like Mia Hasashi-Morrissey and Celine Mosteanu add youthful energy to a roster looking to take the next step.
The Golden Eagles will be led by Head Coach Piyanart Engineer and Assistant Coach Abhijeet Tiwari, who aim to use the fall slate not just for results, but for sharpening mental toughness and testing new doubles combinations.
Following the Invitational, Southern Miss will turn its attention to a major fall highlight, the ITA South Regionals in Auburn, Ala., Oct. 13 -16, where the Golden Eagles will face some of the strongest competition in the Southeast.
