Michael Fowler Set to Participate in Arizona Fall League Next Month

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – It has been a whirlwind the last few months for former Southern Miss pitcher Michael Fowler.
The Trussville, Ala., product, who played his final collegiate season with the Golden Eagles this past spring after also being a member of both the LSU and Tulane programs over his career, was signed by the Mississippi Mud Monsters of the Frontier League in late June after appearing in 10 games for the Golden Eagles, throwing 7 2/3 innings and posting nine strikeouts and eight walks with no record and a 9.39 ERA.
For the Mud Monsters, Fowler threw in seven games in relief and hurled 9 1/3 innings where he fanned 15 and walked one in posting a 2-1 record with a 1.93 ERA. That success led him to being signed by the Milwaukee Brewers organization and assigning him to the Class A Carolina Mudcats of the Carolina League. Fowler also had a brief call-up to Class AAA Nashville, where he appeared in one game.
During his time with the Brewers organization, Fowler pitched in 10 games and registered a 0-1 record with a 2.89 ERA. He threw 9 1/3 frames and allowed seven hits and six walks with 11 strikeouts. During his short time with the Brewers, the organization designated him one of seven prospects to play in the Arizona Fall League, which runs from opening day on Oct. 6, until the championship game set for Nov. 15.
The Arizona Fall League is comprised of all 30 MLB organizations, divided into six teams, with each team representing five affiliations.
The 2025 AFL assignments are as follows:
Glendale Desert Dogs: Blue Jays, Braves, Cardinals, Dodgers, White Sox
Mesa Solar Sox: Athletics, Cubs, Marlins, Rays, Yankees
Peoria Javelinas: Mariners, Orioles, Padres, Reds, Twins
Salt River Rafters: Angels, Diamondbacks, Pirates, Red Sox, Rockies
Scottsdale Scorpions: Astros, Giants, Mets, Nationals, Tigers
Surprise Saguaros: Brewers, Guardians, Phillies, Rangers, Royals
