HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss right-handed pitcher Matt Adams (Pearland, Texas) and outfielder Carson Paetow (Vancleave, Miss.) were each named to the 2025 Division I Academic All-America® baseball teams Tuesday as selected by College Sports Communicators.
Adams earned second team honors, while Paetow collected a third-team nod. Both individuals are currently working toward their master's in business administration with Adams holding a 3.98 grade point average and Paetow possessing a 3.73 GPA.
Adams recently completed his sixth year with the program and posted a 6-4 record with a 4.31 earned run average this past season. He fanned 89 and walked just 22 in 79 1/3 innings and made 18 appearances for the Golden Eagles, including 17 starts. During the season, he earned the Sun Belt Elite Award for highest grade point average of any player in the final day of a championship tournament, named to the Sun Belt All-Tournament and chosen Sun Belt Pitcher of the Week once during the year.
Paetow ended his four-year career with the Golden Eagles this spring and boasted a .268 batting average with 18 doubles, two triples, 16 home runs and 64 runs batted in.
