Baseball Players Enjoying Summer Action on the Diamond

HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Seven Southern Miss players from the 2025 roster are or will be playing summer baseball for four different teams this summer, ranging from the Appalachian League to the Valley League.
A trio of Golden Eagles are playing in Youngsville, La., with the Acadiana Cane Cutters, which includes catcher Coy Clements (Hattiesburg, Miss.) and pitchers Micah Wascom (Bogalusa, La.) and Brooks Willoughby (Vicksburg, Miss.).
Pitchers Teague Broadhead (Fairhope, Ala.) and Cole Richardson (Ellisville, Miss.) are both playing their summers in South Kingstown, Rhode Island, for the Ocean State Waves.
Two-way player Ty Long (Ripley, Miss.), who saw action both in the infield and at pitcher this spring, will enjoy the next couple of months in Virginia with the Harrisonburg Turks of the Valley League, while Seth Smith is playing for the Danville (Va.) Otterbots in the Appalachian League.
Wascom and Long are expected to report to their teams in the near future.
